Keio University, a leading private university in Japan, established
the program as one of the partnership programs of the Joint Japan
/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP). Funded by the
Government of Japan and administered by the World Bank, the JJ/WBGSP is a
personal training project which awards scholarships to help developing
countries strengthen their human resources.
The Graduate School of Business and Commerce of Keio University and
the National Tax Agency have responded to this mission of the JJ/WBGSP
by training five scholars each year in the area of tax policy and
management. Participants are expected to return to their home countries
to become leaders in improving taxation practices.

- Not received any scholarship funding to earn a Graduate degree or its equivalent from any sources funded by the government of Japan.
- Be employed in a paid and full time position at the time of the Scholarship Application Deadline unless the applicant is from a country identified in the World Bank’s “Harmonized List of Fragile Situations”.
- Have, by the time of the Scholarship Application Deadline, at least three years of recent full time paid professional experience in the field of tax policy and administration after a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in the applicant’s home country or in another developing country; If the applicant 18 Admission Information is from a country identified in the World Bank’s “Harmonized List of Fragile Situations” at the time of the Scholarship Application Deadline, the recent professional experience does not have to be full time or paid.
- Not be an Executive Director, his / her alternate, staff of the World Bank Group(the World Bank, International Development Association, International Finance Corporation, Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, and International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes), or a close relative of the aforementioned by blood or adoption with the term “close relative” defined as: Mother, Father, Sister, Half-sister, Brother, Half-brother, Son, Daughter, Aunt, Uncle, Niece, or Nephew.
- Admitted to the University unconditionally or conditionally only upon securing financing.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the English language at the level of a TOEFL score of 550(PBT), 213(CBT) or 79 (iBT) or better, or an IELTS score of 6.0 or better.
- Meet any other criteria for admission established by Keio University.
- Applicants must not be currently pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. program in industrialized countries.
- Applicants must not have had one or more years of training / studies and / or residency in an industrialized country.

RON BROWN SCHOLAR PROGRAM
Eligibility Requirements
The Ron Brown Scholar Program seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate in community service activities and demonstrate financial need. The applicant must be a US citizen or hold a permanent resident visa card. Current college students are not eligible to apply.
Each year, a minimum of ten students will be designated Ron Brown Scholars and will receive $10,000 annually for four years, for a total of $40,000. The recipients may use the renewable scholarships to attend an accredited four-year college or university of their choice within the United States. Ron Brown Scholarships are not limited to any specific field or career objective and may be used to pursue any academic discipline. More than 250 students have been designated as Ron Brown Scholars since the inception of the Program.
Ron Brown Scholars are selected in the spring prior to entering college. Applications are screened during the month of February by Ron Brown Scholar Program staff. In March, finalists are invited to participate in a weekend selection process in Washington, D.C. at the expense of the CAP Charitable Foundation. Finalists are interviewed by members of the Ron Brown Selection Committee and are expected to participate in several Selection Weekend activities. Scholarship winners are selected on the basis of their applications, interviews and participation in Selection Weekend activities. Notification follows immediately.

The Ron Brown Scholar Program currently has two deadlines for applications (students must be current high school seniors at the time of their application):
November 1st - application will be considered for the Ron Brown Scholar Program AND forwarded to a select and limited number of additional scholarship providers.

The three beneficiaries will begin their studies at EARTH’s Costa Rica campus in January 2011 and come from the United States, Mexico and Brazil, countries where Panasonic has operations.

Up to 70 qualified students per year will be supported in this scholarship program.
Students who are accepted into this program are not only guaranteed transfer assistance to a four-year university with transfer application fees paid, but are also given a five week summer bridge/academic enrichment program, for which they will receive a stipend and a top-of-the-line graphing calculator. Scholarship recipients will also receive approximately $1500 per year if they maintain a 2.5 grade point average and continue progressing in their major. They are assigned a caring professor/mentor to help them with any problems they may encounter during their stay at Glendale College. While in the MASTER scholarship program, students are also able to attend special MASTER Supplemental Instruction (SI) classes to give them additional help with their science, engineering, and math classes.
Students will also have a special MASTER counselor, priority registration and assistance with the development of a student education plan. MASTER scholars will automatically become members of the award-winning MASTER Math Club. Where possible, students can also join the GCC Science Academy.

The European College of Liberal Arts (ECLA) offers a one-year undergraduate program in the humanities.The academic year runs for nine months from early October to late June and is divided into three ten-week terms: Autumn, Winter and Spring.The Academy Year program is an introduction to the theory and practice of interdisciplinary learning.

Australia - 2008 Fujitsu IT Scholarship in Information Technology at Charles Darwin University
Fujitsu and the Northern Territory Government have entered into an agreement to provide Mainframe Applications services to Government agencies. As part of this agreement, Fujitsu has made industry development commitments to the Government to assist in developing and enhancing the capability of local business and industry in the Northern Territory, in particular the local information technology industry.
A key industry development commitment is for Fujitsu to implement a scholarship program which focuses on indigenous employment and provides opportunities for Territorians in regional and remote areas. Fujitsu has therefore established, through Charles Darwin University Foundation, the “Fujitsu IT Scholarships in Information Technology” program to encourage student participation at Charles Darwin University (CDU) and in the Territory workforce.
Two Fujitsu IT Scholarships to the value of $3,000 a year for up to three years subject to satisfactory academic progress, ie have not failed a unit and have achieved a credit average in each semester of enrolment while receiving the scholarship.

The Fujitsu Asia Pacific Scholarship (Fujitsu Scholarship) Program, sponsored by Fujitsu Limited, provides financial assistance for postgraduate education and cross-cultural management training to participants from the Asia-Pacific region. Fujitsu Limited, an international leader in information technology, telecommunications, semiconductors and electronics that is headquartered in Tokyo, established the Fujitsu Scholarship to commemorate its 50th anniversary in 1985.
The Fujitsu Scholarship program is available for academic programs at JAIMS. JAIMS, located in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a nonprofit postgraduate institute established by Fujitsu in 1972.
