Canada: Thomas J. Bata International Memorial Scholarship at the Trent University, 2018

Scholarship Description: Trent University is inviting applications for Thomas J. Bata Memorial Graduate Scholarships. Scholarships are available for pursuing graduate programme (M.A., MSc., PhD) programme.
About University: Trent University is a public liberal Arts and science-oriented university located along the Otonabee River in Peterborough, Ontario, with a satellite campus in Oshawa, which serves the Regional Municipality of Durham.

Eligibility:
  • Must not be holding any other major scholarship.
  • Open to all domestic or international full-time graduate students (M.A., MSc., PhD) with an admission GPA of A- and have continued to achieve academic excellence during graduate studies at Trent University. Students may be in any year of any graduate program.
NOTE:  Success recipient must agree to release their personal information specific to their name, program, research and details of their leadership qualities that exemplify the qualities of the Thomas J. Bata Memorial Graduate Scholarship.

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Transcripts – unofficial accepted
  • A statement of research(maximum two pages)
  • A brief non-technical summary (maximum of 400 words)
  • A statement of leadership (maximum two pages) describing the activities and contributions of the applicant which aligns with the values and legacy of Thomas J. Bata.
  • One confidential letter of reference from a member of the community addressing leadership activities, extracurricular interactions and collaborations, and character.

USA: Fully-Funded Karsh International Scholarships at Duke University, 2018

Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for Fully Funded Karsh International Scholarship at Duke University for the year 2018. The scholarship is available to pursue the Undergraduate program.
The aim of the scholarship is to bring to bring together top students from all over the world. Universit’s current cohort of Karsh International Scholars includes students from Ukraine, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Romania, Ecuador, Spain, Ethiopia, Kenya, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Nepal.
About University: Duke University is a private research university located in Durham, North Carolina. Founded by Methodists and Quakers in the present-day town of Trinity in 1838, the school moved to Durham in 1892. Duke University’s ranking in the 2017 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, 8.

Scholarship Benefits: This Karsh International Scholarship is fully – funded scholarship. Karsh International Scholarships cover tuition, room and board, mandatory fees, and demonstrated a need that exceeds those costs. In addition, the scholarship covers up to $7000 of funding for research/service opportunities during the three summers prior to graduation. Karsh Scholars may also apply for support for necessities, such as computers.

The Karsh International Scholarship was created to bring together top students from all over the world. Their academic ambitions and fields of study at Duke are as various as their homelands. Karsh scholars literally embody the ideas of “global citizenship” and boundary-crossing.
